Flower Constructions
Anne ten Donkelaar’s Flower Constructions are made from recycled newspapers, pressed flowers, and her own drawings. As I dove into understanding how to make a better products out of previously discarded materials, I found that the important thing is not necessarily to make a radical change but to initiate the process. In Italian we say, “Da cos a nasce cosa,” which means, “from one thing another is begotten.” Donkelaar’s mishmash of new and old inspired me. Her work is beautiful, detailed, and conscientious.
