Ecotopia Cornucopia: Henry Baumann’s Up-Cycled Art

Henry Baumann’s work is interesting, full stop. But his latest venture is totally unexpected. He spiral cuts large industrial spools and refashions them into large conical shapes that completely transcend their origins. In doing so, Baumann overcomes one of the greatest challenges facing sustainable artists: to transform old, castoff materials into something new and almost unrecognisable from the original. His creative approach takes what could be a mundane act of recycling to a higher plane, and his sculptures are capable of both surprising and delighting.
