With the sale of each new e-reader, a slew of books becomes obsolete. True, nothing can really replace the feel of paper in your hands, but this does not mean we can fight the nascent economy and its new realities. Ekaterina Panikanova does her bit by incorporating old books into her art. She does it beautifully, I would add. The yellowing pages become canvases from which her paintings emerge: the phoenix rising from the ashes.
